Concurrent iSCSI, iWARP, NIC Operation Enables Fabric Convergence
SUNNYVALE, CA – Oct. 5, 2009 – Chelsio Communications, Inc., the leading provider of 10-Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) adapters and ASIC solutions, today announced its high performance Unified Wire 10GbE adapter cards will serve as the PCI-Express 10GbE interconnect for the IBM Power System server platforms.
Chelsio’s solution is uniquely capable of concurrently addressing high performance Ethernet iWARP, RDMA clustering and iSCSI solutions, said Karl Duvalsaint, director of Integrated Systems Development for IBM Systems & Technology Group. The flexibility of the Unified Wire technology fits well with the demanding and feature rich installations served by IBM Power servers.
Chelsio Unified Wire adapters are the highest performance 10GbE adapters for storage, server and cluster networking. The adapters for use with the IBM Power Systems include the low profile S310e-SR+ optical and S310e-CXA CX4 copper adapters. The adapters operate as a 10GbE NIC for Linux and AIX platforms, and concurrently as iSCSI and iWARP adapters as well on Linux platforms. All the products are generally available from IBM on all POWER6 platforms.
